India’s number one carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has emerged as the fourth in the world among the auto makers. It has moved ahead of its parent Suzuki Motor Co of Japan. According to the Global 200: The World’s Best Corporate Reputation” list, complied by US-based Reputation Institute, Maruti Suzuki India is fourth amongst the world automakers. Germany BMW stood fifth amongst the best auto companies while 88th overall with a score of 73.90. Daimler AG was sixth and 99th overall with a score of 72.85. On 7th position is France’s Puegeot. It is 110th overall with a score of 72.32. On 9th position is the Renault of France which ahs overall ranking of 142. Volkswagen of Germany again was the 10th reputed amongst the autocar makers. It scored 69.64.

Kingfisher to plan for Charter Service
The owner of Kingfisher Airlines, Vijaya Malya has planned to use its a-330s and A-340s, to be deployed on international routes. These aircrafts are yet not with him but will join its fleet by this month-end. For this to come into action the discussions with large travel houses are going on. Before this the plan was to use the three A-330s wide-bodied aircraft on domestic routes. The routes are like Bangalore-Delhi. This is not very long in real terms.
But the main hurdle in the process is that while using A-330 on domestic flights would need to park this plan on international terminal side where both the passengers as well the baggage will have to be taken over the long distance between international and digestive side. This is not feasible and would not suit to travellers.
Although the plan seems to be fascinating, the 215 seater aircraft would be cost effective if used for continuously for 10 hour flights like India-Europe. This is the case of 215 seater but the 250 seater aircrafts are also there who can fly non stop for 19.5 hours as per officials on routes like India-US. Apart from this the plans for using these aircrafts for commercial training and charters is also in the process.

Bahrain telcos interest in Indian telcos
The Bahrain Telecommunications Co, is planning to buy a stack in and Indian wireless field. For this to move further the talks are going on with four companies. The CEO of the Bahrain Telecommunications, Peter Kaliaropoulos confirmed the news and said “They are all listed companies. It’s a natural growth opportunity for us to pursue relations with those companies. Most likely we will buy into existing operation.
The other rivals and competititor of Bahrain telcos in its own company are Etisalat, Zain which is Kuwait’s largest telecommunications company, Qatar Telecommunications etc. Like these big companies in the country, the Bahran telcos also decided to expand its business outside the country.

Hurdles in MTN’s merger in Bharti Airtel
In the process of Bharti Airtel acquisition of MTN, a new hurdle has come. According to Indian regulatory rule foreign holding in a telecom company could not exceed 74%. As per sources MTN wants 50% of the deal should be done in cash and the rest through share-swap. In case Bharti pays $25 billion cash, it will have to issue fresh shares worth $25 billion to MTN shareholders to complete the deal. Bharti holds around 65% of the holding with foreign entities. If Bharti does the insurance of its fresh shares worth $25 billion to MTN’s shareholders then it will exceed the foreign holding in the join entity to 78% which is not against the Indian FDI norms
The merging is also facing a problem other than the above. As per African norms 20% of merged entity’s shareholding should be with black investors. But in this merger if cash component exceeds then proportion of black investors might go doen below statutory requirements.
The historic deal between Bharti and MTN is now in the hands of banker who can only make it ensure that the deal goes through without violating regulatory norms.

Bharti opts for Full take over
India’s largest mobile operator, Bharti Airtel, has opted for a full fledged take over of South African telecom giant MTV. If this happens than it would make Bharti the world’s sixth largest mobile operator, boasting over 130 million subscribers.
The market is filled with rumours for the dates when this will happened. Some say it will be on May 17, the World Telecom Day, while others offered May 23 as an acquisition date which is the birthday of Bharti boss Sunil Mittal. Mittle’s driving licence and mobile phone numbers have “23” figures so the take over could happen on 23 also. Whatever are the dates but when ever it happens, it will create a history in Indian telecommunications. The MTV is asking for $50 billion while Bharti is reportedly willing to go upto $45 billion.

Airtel ties up with Apple for iphone
India’s largest company in telecommunication has announced a tie-up With US based Apple Inc to bring the popular GSM-based iphone in the country.
According to reliable sources, Airtel may start offering iphones around Diwali festival to its over 65 million GSM-based subscribers. The telco said in a statement, “ Bharti Airtel has signed a deal with Apple to bring the iphone to India later this year”.
The ties-up between the duo will be beneficial for the consumers who can now avail the products from legal channels and avoid opting for the grey market.

The fees charged will also be very nominal for this. Apart from the industrial units and factories, apartments and societies can also avail this facility of power consumption directly form the plant. But for this their power consumption should be more than 1 MW. Any power plant with surplus electricity can be directly tapped by societies and RWA’s.
If this technique of harnessing power comes into effect then most of the problems in this sector can get reduced.

Skods'a Small Cars in India
Czech Automobiles giant Skoda is planning to launch five e new launches in India. The launching also involves its global small car that will be debut next year I.e. 2009.Thomas Skoda who is the board member of Skoda Auto India, said “We will launch a compact car in the Rs 3 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh segment, below our existing small car segments.”

What is Technology?
Technology can not be defined in a single word. Technology can be defined as Objects, Activities, Process, and Knowledge and likewise in other ways also. In a broader sense technology can be defined by the process which human beings use and modify as per their requirements. Since beginning human has been using this technology in his lifetime activities. It is this technology mainly which shows how improvement has man made from his past.
Nature of Technology.
Science and Technology are in relation with each other. Technology can be used as per one’s requirement. It involves designing, making also. Technology is often associated with values. These values can be the ethical also for rightness or wrongness of anything. Technology is highly shaped by the society. This is because society is made up of humans and its humans whose choice changes with time. This give rise to new technology. When ever there is a change a technology is formed.
Technology in Modern Society
If we do comparison between the present technology and the old technology that man used to have in his past then we would definitely find many differences. In very older time mainly stones were used as tools but with time the needs of humans has changed and he has gone far away of his stone age. Fridge, Television, Space Satellites, Rockets, etc all are modern form of Technology. They have a very impact on the society. Life has become very comfortable with their use. Likely the chlorofluorocarbons used in the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration are depleting ozone layer. The increase in the number of cars on the roads is misbalancing the atmosphere by releasing more harmful gases. Deforestation for factories, mines, buildings etc are causing biological imbalance. Similarly there are many ways in which the technology is affecting our lives
