Ranbaxy Drug Deal With Merck

Ranbaxy has signed a deal with the US based Merck for drugs discovery and clinical development in aniti-infective drugs.
The two big companies willwork togetherto develop clinically validated anti-bacterial dn anti-fungal drug candidates. Technology To Buy Power From Plant

The news is of India’s NRI City Gurgaon. Meeting 75% of Gurgaon’s need of electricity has become and headache of the Haryana Electricity authorities. To meet up this many bulk consumers in gurgaon are now seeking a new option of buying electricity direct from plants through power traders.
According to calculations, daily business in the sector could grow to Rs 2 crore in just Gurgaon and Faridabad. So seeing this upcoming business in the future these units are seeking such direct deals at the behest of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam.
The fees charged will also be very nominal for this. Apart from the industrial units and factories, apartments and societies can also avail this facility of power consumption directly form the plant. But for this their power consumption should be more than 1 MW. Any power plant with surplus electricity can be directly tapped by societies and RWA’s.
If this technique of harnessing power comes into effect then most of the problems in this sector can get reduced.

Skods'a Small Cars in India

Czech Automobiles giant Skoda is planning to launch five e new launches in India. The launching also involves its global small car that will be debut next year I.e. 2009.Thomas Skoda who is the board member of Skoda Auto India, said “We will launch a compact car in the Rs 3 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh segment, below our existing small car segments.”
For Skoda, India will be a key focus market. In the next 5 years it plans to sell 100,000 units, up from the current figures of 13,000 units.

Microsoft Deal Collapses With Yahoo

Microsoft Corp CEO Bill Gates announced that it will focus on growing its own advertising and Internet search business. This was announces after when Microsoft withdrew its takeover offer for Yahoo Inc.
The major dominant competitor of Microsoft Corp. in the internet business is Google Inc. Bill Gates has yet not made any strategy to compete with the later. Although Microsoft has itself developed its own search engine-ad platform and bought aQuantive, an internet based company, for $6 billion, but its US online operations are losing money. The company has captured only 10% of US internet searches compared to Google’s 58% and yahoo‘s 22%.
